This is a test...
Apparently I can update the blog via email. A friend just highlight this to me. Thanx dear! Anyway it seems that I might be able to see you guys tomorrow. :)
Still, enjoy your weekend!!
How To Decide Right From Left
At first I would like to do another topic. But somehow this topic seems more relevant to one of my friends (who is reading this).
So how do you decide on thing?. How do you decide between girlfriend A and girlfriend B? or which house you should buy? There are so many way to decide on things. And I believe all of us have develop an internal system on the methodology. Here's mine. I'm taking the girlfriends case as an example, simply because it is more fun hehe
1) Do I really need to make that choice?
- First ask this question, because a 7 years old and/or a 70 years old definitely doesn't need a girlfriend. Why torture yourself with the dilemma. Sometime and by sometime, I mean, all the time our mind will think about things that have no relevant to us. For example, worried about getting fat, when you are actually underweight with a lifestyle of an athlete. Stop torturing yourself!
- You are going to make an important decision. Of course you will have to check if there is any other alternative. Option C is actually to choose both options. And option D is to choose neither. Consider this for a change.
- FYI in engineering, there is the term "do-nothing". For example, flood happens once every year and workers cannot come to work. The company can either invest millions to construct water disposal system, or we can just declare that days as paid leave to all workers, and only loss thousands :)
- For example, the criteria in choosing a girlfriend maybe manner, nice conversation, and nice to look at. Do note that the quality must be clear. If, for example, when you look at girlfriend A - "I'm comfortable talking to her", and when you look at girlfriend B - "But she's funny", then you'll be repeating that argument for the rest of your life, while singing "Disana Menanti Disini Menunggu". No point! :)
- It may be cruel but you have to know which is better in term of the criteria you define.
- Note : Criteria can also be in negative form, for example, the girlfriend must not be smoking. If girlfriend A does smoke and B does not. Immediately choose B :)
- The criteria based selection is a cruel process. If for example girlfriend B has no manner. Immediately end the decision making choosing girlfriend A. The point of this process is to make the decision and not to entertain the dilemma. So be strong ya!
Mind is a very wild thing. It can be thinking about one thing and later think about a totally different thing immediately. That's why it is sometime good to have an organized decision making skill. Believe me, the process may look like it take a long time, but when you are so used to it, effective decision can be made in seconds.
Up until this point, usually you have come up with a decision. If not, no fear, there are two more secret steps that will guarantee effective decision making. -- To Be Continued --

Slap Is The Answer
I remember one story I read in my email. I'll try to rewrite the story from my memory. One person (who we will call Tenggang) came to see an ustaz. The ustaz was at the moment teaching his student about Islam in a mosque. Tenggang rudely interrupt the teaching and asked the ustaz.
Tenggang : Ustaz, you have been teaching about Allah and Islam. I just want to ask you two questions.
Ustaz : (interrupted but stil remain calm) Yes, please ask and I'll try to explain them to you if I know
Tenggang : You talked about Allah, Can you show me this Allah so I can look and be satisfied? Second question, It was said that Satan was created from fire. Hell was also said to be made of fire. If so, how can satan be tormented and tortured in hell when he is fire by nature?
Ustaz : (approached Tenggang.. and slap him)
Tenggang : (shocked) Why are you mad at me? Is this how an ustaz should behave?
Ustaz : I just answered both questions with the slap.
Tenggang : (still angry) What do you mean by that?
Ustaz : Do you feel the pain when I slap you?
Tenggang : Yes, what's your point?
Ustaz : So you believe that the pain exist?
Tenggang : Yes
Ustaz : Then show me this pain. Obviously you cannot, you can't even comprehend such a normal feeling, how would you expect to understand the physical of Allah (Zat). To know Allah is not to know His "zat". You would go crazy if you think about it. Know Him through His creation.
Tenggang : (slightly humble) But what about the second question?
Ustaz : What is your cheek made of?
Tenggang : Skin
Ustaz : And what is my hand made of?
Tenggang : (Realizing) Also skin
Ustaz : So when I slap you, do you feel the pain?
Tenggang : Yes, Ustaz
Ustaz : Even though Satan is created from fire and so is hell. If Allah will it to hurt satan, It will hurt him.

I read a lot of debate from non-believer who actually question the very existence of God. And they were actually expecting a logical answer from us. The thing is, logic is flawed to begin with. The story serve as a good example of this. To those non-believer, before you ask for the logic behind God, tell me first, where's the logic of you being you
- you cannot choose the way you were born
- you cannot choose the way you were going to die
- you claim that you live but you have absolutely no control of your inner organ. Try to make your heart stop beating for five seconds or ten. How to claim you are you when you can't even explain your beginning, your life and your end
Unbelievably Arrogant

Do you like to watch tv series FRIENDS. You know with Ross, Joey, Chandler, Monica, Rachel and Pheoebe. If you don't, no matter. Im just quoting one scene from their show. Ross found out that Phoebe doesn't believe in evolution. Well, he tried in many ways to prove to Phoebe that evolution is an idea she MUST accept without a doubt. Here is the transcript of the scene.
PHOEBE: Uh-oh. It's Scary Scientist Man.
ROSS: Ok, Phoebe, this is it. In this briefcase I carry actual scientific facts. A briefcase of facts, if you will. Some of these fossils are over 200 million years old.
PHOEBE: Ok, look, before you even start, I'm not denying evolution, ok, I'm just saying that it's one of the possibilities.
ROSS: It's the only possibility, Phoebe.
PHOEBE: Ok, Ross, could you just open your mind like this much, ok? Wasn't there a time when the brightest minds in the world believed that the world was flat? And, up until like what, 50 years ago, you all thought the atom was the smallest thing, until you split it open, and this like, whole mess of crap came out. Now, are you telling me that you are so unbelievably arrogant that you can't admit that there's a teeny tiny possibility that you could be wrong about this?
ROSS: (After a long pause) There might be, a teeny, tiny, possibility.
PHOEBE: I can't believe you caved.
ROSS: What?
:)
/end transcript
The point I want to highlight is we can never assume what we thought or understand is correct and true. Even if the whole world know that 1+1=2, we must always keep an open mind that maybe there are other answers to it. Other view on things should always be considered as "another way to look at it" and not "this idea is ridiculous, go to hell!!".
Finally, there are still so much we don't know about the world we live in. Examples are like our minds, the ghost as in my previous post, out conscience, black hole maybe heaven and hell etc.
- Keep an open mind and be humble with new ideas.
- We don't need to accept and agree on everything.
- What we don't know doesn't always be wrong and what we know doesn't always be right. Who knows in time, we will reach the level of science where we can explain what make us alive or the existence of jinn and satan. :)
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
I'm very sorry this post is not another of my ghost theories. I can assure you, it is very exciting sharing them with you. However the topic may be too heavy for some and it is always my intention for this blog to be light and easy. (just like the radio channel). But if there are demand from fellow friends, I would be delighted to present them to you. :)
About FRIENDS - I know somebody might hate them. But I've always like to watch the series. They are very refreshing and as you can see... educational :)

Why Ghost Are Actually Not Real..
To start, I would like to say that my following points will mainly be based on my knowledge on Islam teaching. Please correct me if I am wrong.
Let me first define what is ghost in malay culture. Typical examples are as follow
- "Pontianak" - said to be created from pregnant woman killed.
- "Hantu Susu" - once famous, ghostly woman knocking houses asking milk for her newborn
- "Hantu Raya" - said to look alike the owner and is super strong
- "Hantu Tinggi", "Pocong", "Hantu Jepun" and many more.
Why do I say, all the defined ghost are not real
- Pregnant woman killed or died is considered in Islam as "Syahid Kecil" (honoured death). There is no way those who "syahid" will become ghost.
- "Seksa / Nikmat Kubur" is a very real thing in Islam. It is supposed to be permanent until the Judgment Day. How come human spirit can haunt the living if they are in "Alam Kubur". If they were tortured, obviously they cannot get out to haunt you. And if they were blessed with pleasure, why would they want to get out. :)
- As mentioned earlier, there is no actual proof that anybody has seen a ghost in their entire life. Stories we heard are almost always about "friend of a friend". I doubt we can trace back the story to the original person. There are those who claim sensing the presence via voices, shadow etc. I stand by my first theory on this one (please refer to previous post). Jin however is a special case. I will elaborate more on this later.
- If we monitor the ghost stories all around the world. one thing they have in common, no "hantu susu" is found in England or India and no dracula is found in Kuala Pilah or Tapah :). They are all actually cultural. Meaning, it is created only from stories maybe as a joke or to frighten children for them to be more obedient.
- Some argue that maybe they are called by different name in different places. "Pontianak" may be known as vampire in certain place. Still the origin tales of vampire is different from "pontianak". In addition, if vampire did kill people, we should be able to see bloodless bodies everywhere every now and then right?
Now, let me tell you what is real. Hm....... maybe later, I try to keep my post short and simple :)
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
FYI, before married, I stayed alone in my house. Quite a big house actually and located about 11km in the estate. A jungle, you know how jungle was supposed to be a very spooky place. I heard lots of ghost stories, some specifically about my house. The funny thing is during my three years staying there, I was never afraid or encounter any spiritual stuff. But whenever I watch ghost movie, I mean the scary one, not the chinese ghost hopping around, I suddenly got goosebump and hearing all sort of things. Only when I watch ghost movie. :) Funny right?
My Theory On Ghost

Do you believe in ghost? I am actually fascinated by the idea of another creature, Such as ghost. And I come up with a lot of theories to explain them. Here's one of them.
First of all, this is what I believe. I believe that some people are more sensitive than the rest. These are the kind of people who will usually first noticed any change of mood in the people around them. They also usually can sense when accidents is about to happen. Or maybe suddenly wake up at night time just because somebody step into the room (very quietly).
Second of all, I believe that whenever we cried, people around us will feel the sadness (eventhough they didn't even see us crying). Vice versa whenever we are happy, suddenly people around us can detect the happiness. My point is, our emotion is actually transmitted out just like a spreading wave (or aura if you want to call it). And people who is the more sensitive will be able to tune in and share the feeling.
I must insist that all my belief stated is totally based on my observation and thought. There is no scientific evidence to support them.
So... whenever a person is murdered or die, usually that will be the most intense emotional state for the person in his entire life. With all that fear and the pain, the person is actually transmitting a very powerful emotion out. So this is my theory. The very strong emotion is so powerful that it was somehow absorbed by the surrounding things at the place, trees, house etc.
The sensitive person we talked about earlier will now go to the place, and somehow absorbed this powerful emotion of fear and pain. He/she will be so overwhelmed by it, feeling the same fear and pain as the person who died.
Pretty much the same concept as dream, our brain will project the fear or try to make sense of the emotion and thus created the so-called ghost. The affected person will now see the ghost as if they are a real being and thus possesion occur.
I hope somebody at least can get what I am meaning to say. Any comments? Or do you have any other insights? Do share. :)
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
No, I haven't seen a ghost. And I plan not to. I think the scariest ghost stories I ever heard is those from high school. One saying that the student went into the toilet and see an old lady washing clothes. The weirdest thing is that the student did not even feel strange as to why there is an old lady in a boy's hostel. Brushing his teeth very near to the old lady, he started to see flesh and blood from the clothes. And the old lady is actually looking directly at him. :) I just loved high school. They are so creative!!
If I Were To Die Today.. How Many?
A bit rush, I just returned from KL. My wife's uncle passed away 7am yesterday. He was a vice chancellor for UKM. anyway.. Alfatihah.
I can only make it to the burial ceremony. And one thing I observed is that a lot of people came to pay their last respect. Excluding the family, I can guarantee of at least 30-40 friends came. Obviously the deceased will not know who came and who did not. So I was wondering what's the reason they came. And I believe it is because of their respect of him.
I then ask myself, if I were to die today, who will come to my burial ceremony? It's not a matter of pride or anything. I will not be able to boast about the number of attendance to my fellow neighbours then. but it did show how many people's lives you have touched, be it family or friends.
So my strategy is this
First.. I will need to strengthen the bond I supposed to have with my family relatives (menghubungkan silaturahim).
Second... maybe find a way to touch their lives (a very broad task). for example, help them when nobody cares. visit them when they are alone etc.
*Actually family wise, I don't need to attend any burial ceremony to know that family is important. "Family must always come first" has always been my principle in life. Still there is always room for improvement. It is very important also for me to stress that, we should never expect family to pay back any help we had given them. That's not family, it's already a "business transaction".
Third... In the mean time, try to make more friends. so hi! (yes, you, who is reading this) Let's be friend? :) I can be contact via the comments, shoutbox and preferably my email, which is banjiki@gmail.com :)
Exhausted After Vacation.. Here's Why
Do you know the feeling you had after you return from a 5-days vacation and when you want to start work, you feel exhausted as if the vacation doesn't do anything for you. The vacation is superb and you do spend all your time relaxing. But still there's exhaustion the morning you are going to start work. Why?
I have this theory that it is because of our "niat" (intention) in the first place. If we take the day off just to get away from the burden of working, obviously we will be so enjoying the vacation that when we know we have to work, we just hate it. I guess, subconciously we know we were back at square one (working).
Reality is we have to work, so not working is not an option.
My point is to change the "niat" when we took the day off, or even during our weekend. Not to get away from working.. but to energize back the worn off body and mind. For it to become subconciously implanted in our mind, we need to say it out loud
"Tomorrow I'm going to rest so that my mind will be clearer and more focus to do my job the day after. Hopefully then I can do a much much better job and satisfy with it"
Niat is a very powerful tool for us to utilise our subconcious mind. I'll elaborate on that later.
p.s. : Of course first you need to love doing your job. :)
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
I actually try this theory when the mrs and I went to Langkawi last March. My first time there even though I'm from Kedah. Everything is heavenly. One of my most memorable moment would be when we do snorkelling at Pulau Payar. I saw Nemo hehe. Worth every cents :). Of course we don't want the vacation to end. Now being a bit more adventurous, we are planning to travel the 14 states of Malaysia every now and then. Can't wait.
Any Problem Can Be Solved One...
When I was studying, one lecturer gave me this story. See... stories make us better at remembering things. I doubt I even remember any formula from his lectures. Basically the story describes what engineering is really about. It is simply problem solving. I am not sure though whether the story is true or not, but I'll share it with you regardless.
During the early years of space exploration, it is said that American astronaut faced one minor problem. The pen they are using just cannot function properly in zero gravity. If you notice, here on the earth, we usually fail to write something using a pen on surfaces like the wall or the ceiling. In zero gravity, obviously the situation worsen as there is just no force pushing the ink out.
Fascinated, the american spend thousands to overcome the problem. They come up with hydraulic system based pen. It is slightly heavier but then in zero gravity, that will not be a problem.
When the Russia start going into space. They encounter the same problem. they then used pencils.
/end story
The most important step in problem solving is actually defining the problem. You wrongly define the problem, you will end up solving another problem instead of the current at hand. Like in this example, the actual problem is "how to write?" and not "how to force the ink out of the pen?". How to apply to real life? Simply put, just spend more time analyzing the problem. Redefine it again and again until you know exactly what's the the problem.
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
First of all, I appreciate my friends who visited the blog everyday. I only know you via my statistic. For that I thank you with all my heart. I was wondering though whether to change my medium to Malay or stick with English? I've had some feedback that some people may not be comfortable with english and thus prevent them from writing any comment. To tell you the truth, what keeps me motivated to keep writing besides my newly found passion for writing, is the 20+- regular friends visiting this blog everyday. Again I thank you. If it's not much trouble, do leave me some comments ya, Malay or English. I don't mind. Just want to know the 20 of you better :)

4 Mistakes Parents Should Avoid
I may not have any children just yet. But I have seen examples of "what in my opinion" mistakes parents do while bringing up their children. And these are not examples from tv series or anything. They were actually happening and done by my very own neighbours.
Mistake 1 - When the father scold the children, the mother must not join the father and scold them. Instead she should play the comforting role and try to explain to the children why they are being scolded in a comforting but stern tone.
Mistake 2 - Continuing the above example, the mother should not go against the father and defend the children unless the children is innocent. In short, both parent should have the same opinion on the matter and the children must know this. It is still recommended that the parent discuss their argument behind the children to avoid lost of sense of authorization.
Mistake 3 - It's a dirty job, but still somebody has to do it. Remember Anakku Sazali? Never spoil the children with love so much that the parent do not dare to scold them or punish them. Children are very understanding, and if explained properly, they will know what were expected of them.
Mistake 4 - Be smarter than the children. They will always test the boundaries of their limitation. Doing so doesn't mean that they will become a bad person in the future. Some parent prefer to let the children explore themselves, which is good. What I am saying is that parents must always offer guidelines for those angels. For examples, the children may cheat sometime to see how you react.
If no action is taken, they will assume it is ok to cheat.
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
These are just my opinion. Not being a parent myself, I hope some parents may enlighten me perhaps on their own experience. Children are not some experiment we can redo if we don't like the results. That's why we need to learn parenting skills. Read books, google the net.. There is just no other way. Some people claim that their ancestors need not learn this things and still they grow up alright. True.. but we are so connected via internet, why not we learn from each other and avoid repeating those bad-result experiments, Right?
Fisherman And Businessman

One afternoon, a very wealthy businessman came to one beach to relax. He saw one fisherman using his net to catch some fish. The fisherman is very skillful that with each throw he would get a lot of fish. Seeing this as an opportunity the businessman approached him.
Businessman -You sure have great skill there. If you want, I can loan you some money for you to start your business.
Fisherman - Really? I am not that good with business, you tell me what should I do with the money
Businessman - You could buy a boat so you will be able to catch more fish
Fisherman - Then what?
Businessman - With more fish, you can hire more people to help.
Fisherman - Then what?
Businessman - You can then afford to buy a bigger boat and employ people to work for you
Fisherman - Then what?
Businessman - (Getting annoyed) Then you can quit your job and spend more time with
your family. Isn't that what we want in the end?
Fisherman - Why bother doing all that when I am now already spending most of my time with my family. Thank you for the offer.
Businessman - (silence)
/end story
Both of them are actually wrong.
The businessman is very optimistic and highly ambitious, which are very good qualities to have.
However he should know already what to achieve with his way of life. His final answer actually should be to improve the quality of life for the fisherman and his family. If he still don't know what he wants with his life (Which generally describe me and maybe major population of the world), he would probably never get it forever.
The fisherman is worse. He may know what he wants with his life, but he doesn't have any desire to improve himself. He is just plain lazy. And maybe sometime relate this to being thankful to Allah (Syukur and Redha). He could at least try right?
Quoting - "Allah will not change the fate of any person if that person did not even attempt to change it"
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
As you may have noticed, I loved this type of story. Why? because it is very easy to remember and very easy to relate the lesson hidden with real life application. Remembering my years of studying, I once flunked my subject simply because I got carried away with my other activities. No objective... No priorities and no plan to achieve it. Hopefully the story help

Why Cold Feet When Nearing Marriage?

There is always this fear when we are about to get married.
- "Is him/her the right person for me?"
- "Should I just wait for a better person?"
- "There are also maybe something irritating about the person that we fear we will have to live with for the rest of our life. Am I the only one who can see this?"
Fear not my friend. You are very normal as I believe all living person will have the same thought.
When people asked me this question (Yes... people do ask me this type of question), I usually just quote a phrase - Do not expect to have a wife as perfect as *Siti Fatimah when you are not any nearer to being Saidina Ali. *Siti Fatimah is the wife of Saidina Ali, one of the four Great Caliphs of Islam. Both of them are said to be an example of perfect husband and wife.
There are two points to remember. First is that nobody is perfect. A marriage will be perfect if you know all the flaws of your spouse and still you loved him / her regardless, and of course vice versa.
Second, just remember that the Satan hates marriage because it will be some sort of firewall for us from doing the forbidden /sin. They will try to sabotage the whole marriage by any means necessary. So most probably those doubt within you is just some persuasion from this nasty creature. A'uzubillahi Min Assyaithonirrojim. Nothing else.
Just think rationally with both wisdom and your heart, with a lot of prayer to Him (Solat Istikharah). You will know what to do. :)
* Correction made pointed out by flighteng. Appreciate it
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
I remember when I got married, the Murphy Law somehow applies. According to the law, anything that can go wrong, will go wrong. :) Nothing big, just that some of the convoy got lost, and in the end... Only the groom (which is me made it to the reception). Luckily everyone arrive just in the nick of time as if everything is according to plan. I still smile whenever I think of this. Any of you guys have funny wedding stories?

To Avoid Lightning

Hi again, i just came back from my vacation, feeling very refresh (hopefully). I noticed there are a lot of thunderstorm every evening at my place and it suddenly occur to me that I don't know anything about lightning safety. So I look it up. Better to know this before we are fried, right?
1) It is recommended to wet your clothes with the rain. This is simply because it is always better to have the current go over you than through you
2) Lightning can strike before rain. So take precaution before it rains.
3) Never use an umbrella or your handphone during lightning. There was even one case I read in the newspaper that one Malaysian had to be admitted to hospital for using handphone and got struck by lightning
4) Do not take shelter under a tree, instead try the inside of a building. Much safer.
5) There is this "Lightning Defensive Position" we can try. Squat down with your feet together and close your ears with your hands. Do not lie down or touch any metal or anyone beside you. Just remember, the lightning always try to find the tallest object around. So if you are on a field alone. the position will not do much :)
6) Stay in your shelter for about 15 minutes after the rain stopped. This is because lightning can strike up to 15km away from the thundercloud even after the rain had stopped.
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
Talking about lightning, I always imagine that if one can survive after being struck by lightning, he or she will have superpowers. heheh I for one is obsessed with the idea of superpower. So any tv series with such theme immediately falls in my favorite list. We may not be able to fly or stop time. But I think we are still using so little of our potential. Just compare ourselves with world athletes around the world. Anyway.... GOOD TO BE BACK!!!! :)

God's Existence
There was one muslim guy named Adam. One day he went to a barber to get his hair trimmed. The barber loved to chat with his client on all topics until suddenly he talked about God.
Barber : I don't really believe there is a God. Just look at all the suffering around the world. There are wars everywhere and people are dying.
Adam even though feel like he should answer that, remain calm and in silence. There's no point arguing about it just yet when he's holding a knife hehe.
When the barber finished his work on Adam, Adam paid him and walk out the shop. Not long after that, he came back rushingly.
Adam : Oh my God, there seem to be no barber at all in the world.
Barber : (looking rather confused) Hey, didn't I just cut your hair? Im a barber. Standing right in front of you.
Adam : Really? How come? Since there are so many people out there with long hair and untrimmed beards.
Barber : That's because they didn't come to my shop to cut. If all of them do that, all will be nicely cut. (He answered smilingly)
Adam : That's exactly what it is. God does exist but since the people do not come searching for him, the suffering continues. There's so many cases where people can find serenity in their poorness and suffering. While those with millions of ringgit can't even sleep at night.

Credit Card Scam..

A couple of month before, there was this one girl, with a very excited tone of voice call me. I have no idea how she got my number. but then she maybe just trying her luck with the number. Basically, i just won some lucky draw said to be co-organized by my credit card bank. Obiviously my personal firewall was triggerred. I have read so much on scam, that i know immediately this is one of those.
However, instead of hanging up, i choose to see how the scam goes. hm maybe due to the seductive voice of hers also :). but anyway.... she was telling me that she is from a new company that randomly choose credit card owner and offer them complimentary VIP card that allow me to have special discounts and even cash rewards.
She then asked my name as if to confirm my identity. I gave her the wrong name, and guess what? She sounds so excited as if I have just gave her a boat or something. What training they must have been through. So good in acting. She asked me a lot of questions, And finally she asked for the 3 digit at the back of my card.
For those who do not have credit cards, in order to do transaction online using credit card. You will need these
- Name
- Billing address
- Card no.
- The 3 digit at the back of your card or better known as CVV2. For other cards, you can refer to the image attached.
Back to the story, I just then hang up the phone. and started thinking. What if I memorize the three digit number and maybe erase it using liquid paper or something. They are too exposed, anybody with a good memory can memorize.
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
Im sorry for the late update. Things have been very busy lately. And I maybe going back to my hometown in Kedah this weekend. But i will be updating here via email. Long time already, since I went back to Kedah. When I was studying, I always tell myself, once I work and
have money, I will go back as often as possible. As I said in an earlier post, we always need
to remind us, where we came from. :)
How To Organize Your Paper / Work?

Source : Rajen Devadeson, Personal Money Magazine
No, I don't do copy and paste. I find it more satisfying writing my own thoughts on things. Still credit is given to the original author.
Basically there are 3 strategies on how to handle your papers.
1) Strategy One - Single Handle Your Paper
- This is like you have those In and Out tray in your desk. All your files should be categorized in those two. Never put anything outside the tray or ... die! :)
- This system was developed by time-management consultant, Stephanie Winston. Basically you decide what to do with your files. However the choice is limited to these four
- Toss - If it can be dispensed, toss it into the bin. If it's not...
- Refer - Can someone else handle it? if yes, delegate to them. If only you can act on it...
- Act - Why wait? Act on it already. Nobody else will do it.
- File - Once done, file it for your future reference. Hey at least that's a record of you doing your work
I however prefer to have a very clean desk. If you have the chance
to check my desk you
will see that everything has its place. I will notice it even if a red pen lost. That is my interpretation of 5S (which will be explained
later). So my paper / work
management is basically, trying to get my desk cleared every day. Not exactly new right, but it works for me. :)
--------------- Personal Note --------------------------
This is my new column where I will briefly introduce myself to you. As you can obviously see,
I love writing. Not exactly related in my work as I am currently working as
an Assistant Manager for a Palm Oil Mill. Today,
two of my boiler tube broken in half. :)

Do You Know Uncle Pareto?

No, he's not my uncle. Maybe somebody's. Anyway he is not that important actually, but his idea is. Click For more info on Pareto's Principle
Bear with me for a while, according to him - 80% of all output comes from 20% of input.
A few examples will describe the principle better. So what Uncle Pareto said is that -
- In 100 workers, only 20 workers are the good ones. If the other 80 didn't come to work, 80% of the work for the day will still be finished regardless.
- In 100 tasks given by the boss everyday, only 20 is important and if you can finish these, basically 80% of your work for the day is done. The boss will be happy already. Keep it up and you will start giving task being the boss yourself.
- In business, 80% of your profit comes from 20% of your client. If you fail to recognize these client and get business from them, your company is already losing money.
- In 100 blogs, only 20 will benefit you. (*wink)
To sum up, in what ever things in life (friends, work, business), before you do anything, identify the key 20% and concentrate on these first. basically you have already achieve 80% of what you want.If not -
- The workers may not be appreciated rightfully and leave the company to work in another. Company's loss.
- You may be so busy doing the small daily routine task, high profile projects are given to somebody else. He will get promoted someday and you are still doing the same small daily routine task.
- Being greedy to get business from all available client, you accidentally neglected the important ones. Feeling ignored they awarded their RM1 Million tender to other contractor instead of to you.
- You spend your day giving feedback on blog about dying ants, color of houses etc, some blog which may actually benefit you were left dry. The author, thinking nobody is interested, then decided to give it up. (*wink)
We just can't have everything now, don't you think so?

Exercise Like Mad, But Still No Result.. Why??
Looking down at that spare tyre of ours, we may be immediately regretting ever looking down. Then we start gathering out inner strength and announce the 1 month program to get back in shape. YES!!! MALAYSIA BOLEH!!!
Wait a minute! Before all that you need to know these facts. You might not be wasting your time.
1) If you want to jog, do it at least 30 minutes and above. This is because your body start burning fat ONLY after the first 20 minutes. If you stop before, you were only just strengthening your muscle and no weight loss what so ever. (of course.. it depends on the intensity of your jogging)
2) The first two weeks of your committed exercise program, you will see a decrease of a few kg immediately. Don't be too happy just yet, that is just water loss from your body. Keep drinking water to flush all the toxin out.
3) After the two weeks, your body will adapt and any loss is most probably due to your fat loss. Congratulation! keep yourself motivated for there is Fact no. 4 :)
4) Around week 3 and 4, you will see that there is no weight loss at all, even some weight gain. You follow your routine like crazy, even do extra exercise with higher intensity but still you are gaining more weight each day. Don't be alarmed. For your information, that is your muscle developing. Muscle is always heavier than fat. And thus the weight gain. Just follow your routine and you will see the result in another 2 to 3 weeks.
5) Our body is SUPER Adaptive. Remember that. You started jogging at maybe 3km for 30 minutes. You will returned home feeling like dying (Ehem my experience ya).
In no time, you will feel the work getting easier each day. This is because of your body is already adapted. Increase intensity with more speed and distance. Rule of thumb, if you exercised and you don't feel anything. Something's wrong
5 facts for now, oh ya I have to put the Disclaimer - Results will vary with individuals.

Working Zombie
Have you ever felt that you are a working zombie. Working for a long time already and you can predict you will be doing the same thing in 10 years. I read in a book about how to give yourself some motivation and direction to working. First Iapologize not able to give the reference to that book, read it long time ago.
It basically says that there are three levels for monthly-paid workers.
- level 1 - Salary below 5K
- level 2 - Salary between 5k to 10k
- level 3 - salary above 10 k
1) First identify which level you are in
2) For example you are in level 1, search through the newspaper for any job paying at level 2. you can search via other ways too such as internet, chat with clients etc.
3) Once you found the job, do research on the job requirement. for example the job may require 5 years experience in project management, or must posses steam certification or an MBA
4) The most important thing is that now that you know how to get there, plan your way. If that level of job requires you to have 5 years experience in project management, volunteer yourself for the experience. If they need you to have steam certificate or an MBA. invest on that. Dedicate all your energy now to achieve that goal.
Once there, you know what to do.
in short, if you want things to change... change it. However you can always choose not to do anything and get the increment slowly year by year. It's totally your choice. This is more like an advice to me than to you. So help me Allah. What do you guys think?
The Secret To Predicting The Weather
I read about this a long time ago in Variasari (a mini magazine very much like the current ones). It was under the column Petua Nenek Kebayan.
It's written that we can know how long it will rain just by looking at the behavior of the roaming chicken. Don't laugh just yet.. well you can smile. it's true though :)
If the chicken stop roaming and rest under the shade (pretty much like the picture
attached), there's a high possibility that the rain will be very brief
even though it is a storm.
And vice versa, if the chicken still continue searching for food, minding their own business, the rain will not be stopping any time soon
I wouldn't dare to put it up here if I didn't test it myself. Try it, and tell me how it goes. You will be amaze with the result. I guess animals just know some things we don't.

3 Things Nobody Tells You When You Graduated
1) You need money to get money
Im not talking about MLM or investment. I'm referring to the money needed during your job hunting process. You will need some money to attend interviews sometimes as far as in other states. Printing your resume, phone bills, stamps and not to forget those photograph will definitely burn a hole in your pocket.
What to do
- Do part time job, preferrably with shift so that you can schedule your work and go to interviews
- Start saving money from your part time job. Don't start your shopping spree just yet. I know all those years eating only maggi mee are haunting you. yes, you deserve to be pampered after all that. But just not yet.
- Only after you secured a well paid job and stabilised, you can start on those dream to-do and to-have list.
Regardless of what people say, as a graduate you are expected to have at least good spoken english. You don't need to know exactly the difference of past present tense etc. You just need to be able to listen, understand and respond comfortably. You don't even need to sound convincing to secure a job. :)
What to do
- Believe it or not, i learnt most of my english from tv shows. I love to watch sitcoms especially those without the subtitles. I guess subconciously the funny scene wil be replayed in my mind over and over again and the phrase become very familiar to be used.
- Read books
- Speak to your friends. Try to use proper sentence. There's no shame in doing so.
Simply put, credit card has no use except to be used for emergency. By emergency, I mean "you don't have the money, you die."
Credit card is being boast as the sign of stability and class. May be this is true at some level. But in my opinion, you are just borrowing money from your future self
and in doing so, you pay the bank for letting you do this.
Avoid credit card application at all cost. If you really need to have one, be sure you are ready to take the responsibility.
p.s. What other things do you guys think graduates should be told before they finish their study? At least they will not repeat the same mistake we did.
Donkey Tale
I got this story from one forwarded email. Enjoy
One day a farmer's donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried piteously for hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do. Finally he decided the animal was old and the well needed to be covered up anyway, it just wasn't worth it to retrieve the donkey. He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well.
At first, the donkey realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone's amazement, he quieted down. A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well and was astonished at what he saw. With every shovel of dirt that hit his back, the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a step up. As the farmer's neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal, he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and trotted off!
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of our troubles is a stepping stone. We can get out of the deepest wells just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up!

Dari Mana Nak Ke Mana? (Part 1/2)
Have you ever heard the question above? A direct translation would be - "Where are you from and Where are you going?". The question usually serve as an ice breaker to say hi to another person who seems to be going somewhere. As simple as it is, it is a very powerful tool for us to have a full life.
This is actually the very first question we need to ask ourselves
Where are you from?
- Biologically we came from our parent.
- Some may say we came from nothing. we dont have money, cloth, girlfriend etc.
- Another would prefer the old geographically approach. That we came from Johor, Kelantan etc
As for me, the answer to that question is that we came from nothing. obviously we will need to achieve something. or wouldn't it be a waste if we end up with nothing.
To Be Continued....

Bismillah
Cryptic? yes i think so too.
According to Wikipedia, Immortality (or eternal life) is the concept of living in physical or spiritual form for an infinite length of time.
What's this blog is all about anyway?
There will also be some personal post. You have been warned :)
What's my source?
Most of them will be from my opinion and view of things unless stated otherwise (research etc). As I mentioned earlier, I consider myself as the thread starter. Discussion and gathering other point of view is the whole point of this blog.
Immortalw?
There is no such words. I actually intend it to mean "immortal wisdom". Again, please leave your opinion and thought here. Thanks

it's basically the place for me to highlight the many important fact of life. Any ideas and opinion on the various topics are very much welcomed and appreciated. Thus by learning from each other, we had gained knowledge and wisdom without having to go through the time consuming experience. Still the fact is experience and failure will always be the best teachers in life. There's no harm right, if we learn from other's mistake and experience.
